We didn’t have many anglers braving the horrendous weather last week.
There were 6 boats out over those days with 9 rods, 3 fish were kept, weighing 13½ lbs, and 9 fish were returned. Fish were taking Blobs, mini snakes, and various damsel patterns.
The best catches during the week were by Francis Donnolly fishing from the bank keeping 2 for 6 lbs (one weighing 3½ lbs) and returning 1. Stuart Kelly on Thursday returned 3 trout and 2 pike, all taking a humungous. Des O’Connor managed to catch 1 in his 4hr session, he was delighted with his 5½ lbs rainbow taken on a pink & orange blob.
Saturday saw Linlithgow Rose FFC out with 3 anglers returning 5 fish using fast glass and sink-tip lines with mini snakes and a damsel pattern which was taken by a 14 lb Brownie. Wilson Hoggan out for a couple of hours kept a 2 lb rainbow using a Di5 line and a booby humungous. Most of the anglers were back in by 1:30pm feeling the bitter east wind, only Ricky Wilson stayed out longer and managed to catch that big Brownie with his sink-tip and a damsel - see photos.
A few boats braved it on Sunday, Mr Appleton out on his own returned a 2½ and a 4 lb fish, Mark Lawton struggled to find the fish, only managing 1 weighing 3 lbs to the net.
Let's hope we have warmer dryer days ahead so we can all get out fishing.
We continue to stock regularly as seen on our Facebook page
Boats are available on most days for a full day or 4-hour sessions but to avoid disappointment please call 01506 671753 or book online in advance.
